Abstract
Philippines is among the Asia's growing educational background in astronomy. It's starting to improve its networks throughout Southeast Asia, formal education and collaboration with every astronomical organizations, outreach programs in different institutions throughout the nation, familiarizing astronomy to each individual.
This study aims to determine the state of selected science high schools in Metro Manila in terms of astronomical items owned, astronomical events observed, methods used for updates and educational background in basic astronomy and astrophysics. Each school was given same set of questions and time for answering it. Each data has been pooled, tallied, tabulate with the aid of graphical representations, and analyzed.
The results were quite impressive and some were disappointing. Many were still unable to apprise on recent news in astronomy, the knowledge has stopped from outdated books. After finding the results, the researchers targets the formal education system given by teachers, the researchers, recommend that educators should at least keep update in astronomical news and issues, also join forums via internet, join astronomical organization seminars and lectures and many more aspects.;
